• Cost: $0.99
• About this out: This app allows students to count money. 
• Likes: Realistic looking money makes this app applicable. It offers multiple choice questions and tells the student when they are correct/incorrect.
• Dislikes: The app is not very engaging. Besides looking like real money is does not have a lot of "bells and whistles".
• Recommendation: I think there are other possibilities out there that could work as well, if not better for no cost.



Dictionary.com




• Name of the app: Dictionary.com

• Cost: free
• About this out: This app is run by the same program as dictionary.com. It allows students to type in a word and get the definition as well as synonyms and antonymous   
• Likes: This reliable app gives academic definitions, common misspellings, and synonym choices for students. 
• Dislikes: Some of the definitions the app come with are of a higher reading level than some of my students. The font is also very small
• Recommendation: I would recommend this app as a resource in the classroom. It is good to get children accustomed to looking things up in the dictionary. It is also beneficial for students to have other word options for commonly used words as they develop in their education. 


Doceri

• Name of the app: Doceri

• URL (web address) –http://doceri.com/
• Cost: free
• About this out: The Doceri app allows your ipad to become an interactive whiteboard. Hooked up to the same wireless network you can access your ipad apps and they are displayed on the projector. 
• Likes: This is a great app that allows you the flexibility to move around the room and control the whiteboard from a distance. It is also cool because you can have students show examples on the ipad and it will show on the whiteboard. It will also record the lesson for you.
• Dislikes: You must be connected to the internet for this app to work.
• Recommendation: I would recommend this app as a resource in the classroom. It allows for great flexibility in the classroom.

AutismXpress


• Name of the app: AutismXpress

• Cost: free
• About this out: This app is very simple to use. It allows students to communicate how they are feeling. It is simple to use and child friendly.
• Likes: With colorful simple graphics this app is easy for students to recognize their feeling and communicate it through the app.
• Dislikes: The app freezes often and does not have every emotion. It has 12 choices.
• Recommendation: I would recommend this app as a resource in the classroom. Even if the app freezes, having  these pictures would be useful in the classroom.



Dragon Dictation


I have found a educational apps that that could be useful in a classroom. 



• Name of the app: Dragon Dictation
• URL (web address) – https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragon-dictation/id341446764?mt=8
• Cost: free
• About this out: This app is a great free resource for all students. This app allows students to speak into it and it types for the student. This is a great resource for students who struggle with spelling and typing.
• Likes: This app is great because it is free. It also allows you to e-mail the text right from the app.
• Dislikes: The app sometimes stops recording in the middle of a sentence. It also gets many words incorrect. If students make a mistake and want to go back and fix it, it is difficult.
• Recommendation: I would recommend this app as a resource in the classroom. I would not recommend it for long tasks, such as writing an essay.
